Review:
Ah yes, every god damned person's number one album of 2007. You'd think with that bullshit cynicism, I'd have something against them. I don't, they're one of my favorite bands. Welcome to the world of Radiohead. A world where everyone you know has heard of them, and plenty of people like them. With the typical music-lover these days, it's all about knowing the good bands first. And though Radiohead is one of them, their popularity makes them a bit less than desirable. But everyone will defy that logic just because Radiohead is that damned good. Now, there really needn't be a review for this album because by natural law all Radiohead albums are classic. The only thing to comment on are their differences. As many have noted, this album is a much mature release, seeing less layers and more implementation of real instruments, shedding a more human and emotional side of Radiohead into the light. No top 100 guitar solos, no computerized singing, no ridiculous electronic creepy tracks, no classic hard rock Radiohead. Just ballads on top of ballads. With a larger emphasis on the drums. That's it. And it's great.
